The database Catalogus Professorum Lipsiensis provides widely used set of information about professors of the last 600 years.

The application of the knowledge base for research in the field of Newer and Newest History is supported by different external and internal tools. The implemented Linked Data and SPARQL interfaces are central for this tools.

In the research field of Knowledge of Engineering and Semantic Web the catalogue offers a big validated knowledge base. This allows, e.g., to evaluate new applications for the Semantic Web. In addition, the catalogue is a component of the Linked Open Data Cloud. The used URIs are linked in this knowledge network currently and in future.
